Principle of operation
ELECTRONIC METER BY ULTRASOUND – TECFLUID LU



A transducer emits short pulses of ultrasound towards the surface of a product. The reflection of these pulses is received by the same transducer. Ultrasonic waves travel at the speed of sound. The time that elapses from the emission of the signal until it is reflected on the surface of the product (T1) plus the time until it is received again by the transducer (T2) determines how far away the product is. The calculation of this distance is carried out by means of a microprocessor with a powerful and intelligent software that selects the correct echo level among the echoes produced by the internal elements of the vessels. A temperature detector incorporated in the transducer provides the actual working temperature to the microprocessor, which makes the appropriate calculation corrections for the measured distance. A change of product does not affect the correct functioning of the meter, being unnecessary a new adjustment for each new product. The non-contact level gauge makes installation and maintenance easy.
