Principle of operation
PIPE FLOW METER METALLIC – TECFLUID M21
The M21 series flowmeter is a variable area metal tube flowmeter for small flow rates. Its operation is based on the principle of variable area, obtained by a float that moves inside a calibrated ring. The circulating flow displaces the float, up to a height inside the ring, where the forces are balanced: – E = fluid thrust – Pf = float weight – Al = free passage area (Al = Ao, plug area, – Af , float area).
Each position of the float in equilibrium corresponds to the value of the circulating flow. The magnetic field of the float moves the tracking assembly containing the pointer, bringing it to the proper point on the graduated scale.
