Principle of operation
PIPE FLOW METER METALLIC – TECFLUID SC250
Flowmeters based on the variable area principle. The measuring system consists of a calibrated hole and a conical float . The pressure of the fluid as it circulates from the bottom up, displaces the float until it reaches a point of equilibrium that is a function of: – E = pressure of the fluid – Pf = weight of the float – Al = free area of passage ( Al = Ao, plug area, – Af, float area) Each float position represents an area between the float and the orifice. This area corresponds to a specific flow.
