Gate valves work to completely stop or resume a fluid, they open and close the circuit by means of a disc that gradually closes vertically until it conforms to the seat. They are bidirectional and have an integral flow, which is why they offer a minimum pressure drop, a highly valuable option when there is a need for a rectilinear fluid or a minimum flow restriction. These valves also offer a very efficient hermetic closure although they require a great force to operate.

The gate valves are manufactured in cast iron or forging and in different materials: Bronze (especially to work with seawater), carbon steel, stainless steel (petrochemical sector), iron, forged steel or brass.

These valves are ergonomically designed, easily accessible. The discs can be a solid or flexible wedge. Flexible discs were developed to overcome chill adhesion in high temperature service and minimize operating torque..
