Diaphragm valves
Diaphragm valves are used to stop, resume or throttle fluid flow. The main characteristic of these valves is the use of a plastic diaphragm that isolates the operating mechanism from the fluid, which makes them ideal for working with viscous or polluting fluids since they are isolated from the outside.
The diaphragm, a flexible membrane generally made of elastomer, is tightened by a metal part that seals it. In addition to the elastomeric closure, diaphragm valves are usually lined with plastic, glass or a protective layer of paint, which gives them great resistance in applications with corrosive, abrasive fluids or suspended solids.
There are two types of diaphragm valves. Direct passage: suitable for working with sludge and dust, preventing their accumulation; Restricted passage: they have a characteristic “V” shape, they serve to regulate and allow many more diaphragm configurations.
