Ball valves
Valves are a type of isolation valve , consisting of a perforated ball transversely, where the opening and closing is produced, quickly, by the 90º rotation of the ball . When the size of the ball hole coincides with that of the pipe we speak of total passage , when it is lower , reduced pitch . If the pressure of the circuit is very high, the design of the sphere is recommended to be guided , that is, the seat will always be in contact with the sphere thanks to additional springs that maintain contact upstream or downstream .
These options offer excellent sealing , easy maintenance and low pressure loss in relation to the size of the ball hole. Another advantage is the speed of the maneuver both for closing and opening. Ball valves allow multi-way designs , designs with soft seats and metal-metal .
The materials used for its manufacture are diverse, generally stainless steel and carbon steel, however we also find bodies in bronze , brass, iron and pvc among others. Viton, epdm or teflon with graphite seats are also used.
In addition, there are designs that offer a locking device of the sleeve, a integral PTFE lining of the valve for highly corrosive or toxic substances strong > or a ISO 5211 upper flange for mounting of actuators. GRM Valves and instrumentation takes care of supplying the valves with the desired requirements correctly integrated.
The end ends that serve as connections are threaded , flanged or weldable (socket weld or buttweld).
They are used in steam , water , oil , gas , air , petroleum and corrosive fluids .
